Guildies were in for a treat at the Calpheon Ball this Monday part 6, confirming two new classes, lifeskill changes, a new region, and a number of quality of life improvements.

Travel updates

Yidingbai digs his shoes into the roof of a house in Glish. Walking won’t be needed anymore after next year’s updates.
At a glance:
- Free dream horse
- Magnus improvements
- Ocean and desert improvements
- Aakman and Hystria improvements
PA started the night off with some announcements for moving across the world more easily. Pointing to the successes from the Magnus and the dream horsie giveaway at the Heidel Ball, they said every player can have a free dream horsie and build that in as a feature of the game. People who got the Heidel Ball one get to have another free dream horsie too, or can pick the mythical censer.
They’re gonna eliminate so many loading screens (and maybe not require unpartying or dehorsing) when traversing the Magnus. Just rock up to a well and pick where you wanna go on a map rather than menuing the 3D menu of the Abyss One Magnus itself.
Black Shrine locations are a bit far from the Nampo Magnus well, so PA said we can teleport direct to Black Shrines and return back to where we were before when we’re done. Same thing for Atoraxxion.
We’re mapless in the ocean and desert without a compass, but upcoming updates will now let us ping in the ocean and desert if we have a compass. Barter details for Margoria routes will also show on the world map.
PA will remove the questline needed to tell apart Aakman and Hystria portals and instead make it easier to tell them apart without needing to do a questline.
Item updates

The sun rises over a new era of optimised inventories and storages.
At a glance:
- Consolidated Black Stones, primary crafting materials, and some secondary and tertiary crafting materials
- Improvements to farming items
- Simplification of elixirs and crystals
- Improvements to quest items, event items, obsolete items, and assembly items
Dusty warehouses and inventories get a spring clean next year as slots will be saved through a number of measures consolidating and simplifying BDO’s item system. Weapon and armour Black Stones will be consolidated as will all Black Stones associated with sailing gear enhancement. There will now only be a handful of different Black Stones for players to collect.
Gatherables, fruits, and traces will be unified rather than having separate types from different sources. For instance, all the different types of meat will be merged into a single item just called “Raw Meat”. Things that can be crafted from these primary materials will also be simplified.
Seeds will be changed so they will finally be stackable in your inventory. They’ll also remove the seed grades up to Special (i.e. retaining Magical and Mystical) seeds, which when harvested give all qualities of crops.
Party elixirs will be removed and their effects given to the standard elixirs. Green elixirs will buff party members for 10 minutes and blue for 15 minutes.
Lower tier crystals that aren’t used much will be consolidated, but PA didn’t specify how. But they did say that life and vital crystals will be merged so that we get the lifeskill and mastery benefits together.
PA will change quests so that they consume quest items rather than having us collect them as souvenirs.
Event seals will look pretty in their own dedicated UI rather than us keeping those as souvenirs too. Current and legacy event seals will be exchangeable for rewards directly in the UI.
Items that no-one uses like the Bronze Hoe will be removed.
Assembly items will be simplified, no longer needing us to arrange them in our regular inventories. A new inventory space will be created to allow us to assemble items, do so while doing other actions, and assemble items in bulk.
Life skill updates

Soon sailing on main will no longer be too suboptimal.
At a glance:
- Shared life skill levels across family
- No more certificate or skill requirements for processing
- Improved Epheria Sailboat and Frigate crafting
- Epheria Carrack licences
- Suspension of trading
One of the bigger announcements for lifeskilling players was the announcement that life skill levels would be shared across the family. PA said they wanted to encourage lifeskilling on different characters, who might live in different parts of the map, without feeling suboptimal.
PA will remove certificate or skill requirements for processing. This was a kinda arbitrary requirement anyway.
Continuing with the recent improvements to sailing come improvements to Epheria Sailboat and Frigate crafting as they take too many dailies. They didn’t specify how yet though.
And good news to those who have stacked up sailies mats: Epheria Carrack licences have been announced, raising the possibility that we might be able to craft them to sell.
Finally, as trade items DDOSsed many game features like tagging and fast-travel, general goods trading will be removed while a reworked trade system is worked on. They won’t touch processed crate trading though.
Monster zone updates

So helmabuse?
At a glance:
- Balanced income of all zones
- Improved Ulukita and Valencia zones
- Reworked boss summoning
- Black Shrine calamity 8-10
- Reworked Altar of Blood
- Unified presets and enhancing
PA said they’d balance the income of all zones, including lower zones with lower gear requirements, so that the expected income is about the same. This is to avoid the rich getting richer just for being rich, and therefore geared.
Spots in Uwukita are getting new mechanics; and Valencia zones Aakman, Hystria, Pila Ku, and Sulfur are getting Dekhia.
The boss summon scroll system will be reworked but they didn’t specify how.
Black Shrine calamity 8-10 are coming and the calamity 7 reward system is here to stay. In these bosses, you use your own gear and won’t be able to hurt the bosses unless you reach minimum AP thresholds of 300, 310, and 320 for calamity 8, 9, and 10, respectively. These bosses will have the chance to drop Deboreka accessories. There will be challenge modes where you get extra rewards for completing a challenge such as having armour unequipped.
Altar of Blood is coming back as a co-op raid with three difficulties, 250, 280, and 310 AP. No further details were given.
A unified UI for all presets is coming, so you can switch your lightstone set, crystal set, and add-ons, etc., all at once.
Enhancement fail with cron will raise your failstack by one.
Guild updates

Guild m*thlab ok?
At a glance:
- Guild vanity functions
- Guild mission rework
- Guildboss improvements
- Newbie guildie support
- Guild manor
- Friendly 15v15
- Node war changes
- Conquest war changes and guild dragon
We’re getting guild vanity options such as guild titles that appear before our guild name, such as <Feeeesh HaveFun> probably. We can also add #weekleech hashtags, custom guild alerts on guildie login and custom colours and text sizes for the alerts.
Guild missions are getting a makeover, with PA vaguely stating that they’re going to be done solo. We can only imagine this means that guild missions aren’t shared across the guild. They’ll also introduce weekly guild missions, which are done as a guild, and are supposed to have huge requirements that could possibly take all week.
Guildbosses won’t require the summon scrolls anymore, and PA said that this will encourage people to do the guild missions even when scrolls aren’t needed. They’ll also improve the rewards and improve the way we get to Khan by introducing a Khan-specific CTG.
Newbies benefit from improved guild buffs and the ability to rent PEN gear and accessories from other guildies. Daily wage will cap out at 100 mil.
The guild manor will be a place to hang out and even AFK cook. Guildies will be able to instantly teleport to their guild manor.
Friendly 15v15 PVP will be introduced with rewards of 200 mil each.
Node war will have new rules so that forts don’t need to be pre-constructed and you can attack and occupy any neutral fort. Each neutral fort has its own timer. If you win, then you keep that fort and get benefits like better worker productivity at production nodes there and better item drop rates at monster spots there. Winners exit the node war immediately and don’t get to helmp other nodes. Losers can go on to target other nodes.
Conquest war has a defending castle guild which can enlist other guilds to helmp defend. Attacking guilds just to kill the command post to win. Rewards for all guilds on the side that wins, and the castle guild gets access to the guild dragon.
Quest updates

Get ready for new unskippable cutscenes and/or game story immersion.
At a glance:
- Quest search and UI improvements
- Second PEN accessory questline
- One free TET Blackstar weapon on season graduation
- Removed instrument questlines
- Improved main quest
PA are introducing a quest search by name, NPC, and rewards. They’ll also improve the quest UI but didn’t say how.
We’ll be able to do the PEN accessory questline a second time. It’ll be the same questline as the first time, but PA will make a nice UI to show progress.
When we graduate from season, we’ll get a TET Blackstar weapon for free, up to one per account, untradeable, but yes enhanceable.
Uwu quests to get the Marni and Florchestra instruments were kinda annoying so we just get the instruments without any uwuing.
Main quest will be remastered, crossroads unified, new cutscenes, and voiceovers added.
Content updates

Things are looking up with two new classes, but gunner nowhere to be seen.
At a glance:
- New region in Land of Morning Light
- Two new classes
- New winter outfits
- New season
Land of Morningchan will be expanded with LoML: Seoul, featuring a continuation of Korean influences.
We’re getting two new classes, a female dual hammer user Scholar on 20 December 2023, and a male sword user. Not many details on the cool new sword guy.
This winter will see new winter outfits with a Christmas theme, the first released on 20 December 2023 and the second released for female classes on 10 January 2024.
Np enjoy!
